About The Renter’s Home

Welcome to The Renter’s Home — we’re glad you found us.

We started this site with a simple frustration: almost every home blog quietly assumes you own the place. Drill here. Paint that. Knock through, build in, renovate. If you rent, most of that advice is useless — and some of it could cost you your deposit.

So we built the site we couldn’t find. Everything on The Renter’s Home is made for rented homes and small spaces. No paint, no drills, no nails. Every idea can be undone on moving day, usually in minutes, and most of it can be packed up and taken with you to the next place.

Here’s what we do:

Rental-friendly decor. Ways to make a rented room feel like yours — with textiles, lighting, removable everything and clever covering-up of the features you didn’t choose and can’t change.

Storage and organisation that fits real rental cabinets. We measure. Our storage posts are built around the sizes rental kitchens, bathrooms and closets actually come in, so what you buy fits the space you have — not the space a showroom has.

Cleaning systems and reset routines. Small homes get messy fast and clean up fast too, if there’s a system. Our Sunday Resets, moving-in cleans and room-by-room routines are built to be finished, not admired.

Small balconies and seasonal touches. Fold-away, stackable, storable-in-one-box ideas that make a tiny outdoor space — and a tiny Christmas — feel generous.

A few promises we keep on every post: if an idea could mark a wall or risk a deposit, we say so up front. If something only works in a bigger space, it doesn’t appear here. And if a cheaper option does the same job, we’ll tell you that instead.

We don’t do renovations, repairs or tenancy advice — there are good sites for those, and this isn’t one of them. What we do is help you live well, right now, in the home you actually have.

Big comfort for small rented spaces. Start with our small kitchen storage ideas, or grab the free checklists — and make yourself at home.
